Animal welfare issues have been clearly in the focus of German politics in the last years. As a consequence, policy impact analysis of regulatory legislation as well as incentive programmes have been conducted using agri benchmark data. In this context, the calculation of additional costs for animal welfare measure were a focal point of the analysis.
